Toni Collette is an Australian actress and singer.
Biography[]
Born Toni Collett in Blacktown, New South Wales, she studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, making her screen debut in the television series A Country Practice and film debut in Spotswood in 1992. However she gained international attention for playing the titular lead in Muriel's Wedding and had an Academy Award nominated role in The Sixth Sense.
Collette would continue to appear in a mixture of films - such as Little Miss Sunshine and The Way, Way Back - and plays including the Broadway production of The Realistic Joneses. She also became lead vocalist of the band Toni Collette and The Finish.
Singing[]
As well as originating the role of Blondie in The Wild Party, Collette also sang in a number of her films, notably performing several songs from stage musicals - including "Memory" and "Cabaret" -in Connie and Carla and "Hello Halo" for the soundtrack of Miss You Already. In 2006 she released the album Beautiful Awkward Pictures as part of the band Toni Collette and The Finish.
