Todd Carty is an English actor.

Biography[]

Born Todd Jennings in London, England, he studied at the Phildene stage school and worked as a child actor, appearing as a young performer as Tucker Jenkins in Grange Hill and Tucker's Luck. He later had a number of film roles in television serials and drama including Drummer and Our Mutual Friend as well as the films Please Sir!, Professor Popper's Problem and Krull.

Carty later gained wider recognition for his long-running role as Mark Fowler in EastEnders, and as the crooked policeman Gabriel Kent in The Bill. He continued to act in films such as The Black Velvet Band and Silver Birches, as well as having an impressive radio and voiceover career, with roles in Les Miserables, Bringing Eddie Home and the Chocolate Frigate. He is also a regular of pantomimes, notably playing King Rat in two productions of Dick Whittington.

Carty appeared as the young Lionel Bart in the musical Lionel! as a child, and later appeared several times as Patsy in Spamalot.
