Timothy Bateson was an English actor.

Biography[]

Born in London, Bateson became a notable theatrical performer, appearing in the original London production of Waiting For Godot (as Lucky) and later had roles in such productions as Caesar and Cleopatra, Hamlet and The Country Wife.

Bateson appeared in several films following his debut in 1947's Nicholas Nickleby and often played whimsical characters in films including David Copperfield and Labyrinth as well as television series such as The Cadfael Chronicles and Doctor Who. He also provided voices for Shakespeare: The Animated Tales, Animals of Farthing Wood and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Bateson passed away in 2009.
