Terry Jones was a Welsh actor and comic writer.
Biography[]
Born in Colwyn Bay, Wales, he studied at Oxford where he worked with Michael Palin at the Comedy Revue, before going on to appear in such shows as Twice a Fortnight, The Complete and Utter History of Britain, Do Not Adjust Your Set and The Frost Report. With Palin and a number of other comedians he formed the comedy troupe Monty Python.
With Python, Jones directed, wrote and performed, going on to directing solo projects such as Erik the Viking and Personal Services. He also wrote a number of history books, as well as the fictional work Erik the Viking, and conceived the opera Evil Machines in 2008.
Jones passed away in 2020.
Singing[]
As well as writing many of the songs for Monty Python, Jones also performed several of them, including such solos as "Sgt. Duckie's Song" and "Never Be Rude to an Arab."
Jones also sang in two of his various roles, as Mr. Toad in The Wind in the Willows (for which he wrote several of the songs) and performing "Fishtastic" in Help! I'm a Fish.
