Stephen Mangan is an English actor.

Biography[]

Born in Ponders End, London, he trained at RADA and performed onstage in Much Ado About Nothing, School for Scandal (earning him a nomination for an Ian Charleson Award) and Hay Fever. Onscreen he gained greater recognition for appearing in Adrian Mole: The Cappucino Years and Green Wing.

Mangan had several roles in films, including Beyond the Pole and providing the voice of Postman Pat in Postman Pat: The Movie but mainly stuck to television, with roles in Dirk Gently (as the titular lead) and Episodes. He also remained in the theatre with roles in Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense and The Birthday Party.

Singing[]

Mangan generally sang in comic roles, performing the mocking song "Ginger Child" and lending a mocking baritone to "All Things Bright and Beautiful" in Green Wing as well as singing the romantic solo "Isabelle" in Confetti (as well as joining the rest of the cast in "One Love".)
