Simon Jones is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in Charlton Park, Wiltshire, Jones first rose to prominence due to his radio role as Arthur Dent in A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and often used his vocal talents for work as an audiobook narrator and voice actor. He appeared on stage several times including in Private Lives, The School for Scandal and Farinelli and the King.
Onscreen, Jones appeared in films including Privates on Parade, Brazil and Twelve Monkeys as well as the television series Blackadder and Downton Abbey.
Singing[]
Jones performed in a number of comic musicals, playing the male lead of Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady, Teddy Egbert in Gay Divorce and Priam Farll in Darling of the Day. He also played Sherlock Holmes in Baker Street, Reverend Birdsong in Greenwillow and Sir Francis Beekman in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
