Shannon Bolin was an American actress.
Biography[]
Born Iona Bolin in Spencer, South Dakota, she began her singing career working for CBS Radio and hosting her own show during World War Two. When the War ended, Bolin joined the New Opera Company and became known as a musical performer, though she also appeared in the straight plays Only in America and Xmas in Las Vegas.
Mostly known for her stage career, Bolin nontheless appeared in the films If Ever I See You Again and The Children, as well as a guest appearance on The Jackie Gleason Show.
Bolin passed away in 2016.

Bolin made her name as a Broadway actress, most prominently originating the role of Meg Boyd in Damn Yankees and reprising the role for the film adaptation What Lola Wants. She also appeared in such productions as The Student Gypsy (as Zampa) and Promenade (as the Mother), as well as releasing her own album Rare Wine.
