Sarah Lancashire is an English actress.

Biography[]

Born in Oldham, Lancashire, she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Art before starting a career in repertory theatre, winning plaudits for her role in The Beauty Game before taking on the popular recurring role of Raquel in Coronation Street. She would go on to have roles in a number of succesful programmes including Where the Heart Is, Wuthering Heights and Oliver Twist.

Lancashire appeared in the films And When Did You Last See Your Father and Dad's Army, but she appeared predominantly on television, in Doctor Who, Last Tango in Halifax and MotherFatherSon respectively.

Singing[]

Lancashire appeared in four musical productions, namely Little Shop of Horrors (playing Audrey), Blood Brothers (Linda), Guys and Dolls (as Miss Adelaide) and Betty Blue Eyes, where she originated the role of Joyce.
