Sally Dexter is an English actress.
Biography[]
Born in England, she won the Olivier Award in 1987 for Most Promising Newcomer after appearing in Dalliance. She also began to appear in television shows such as Sam Saturday, Have Your Cake and Eat It and Night & Day.
Dexter mainly performed on stage, including playing Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Anna in Closer and Regan in King Lear but also created and starred in the series Sugartown as well as long term roles in A Touch of Frost and Emmerdale.
Singing[]
A frequent performer on stage, Dexter first sang as Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera but received plaudits for playing Nancy in Oliver!. She later appeared as Mrs. Wilkinson in Billy Elliot the Musical and originated the role of Bag Girls: The Musical.
Dexter also appeared as Madame Giry on the concept album of Love Never Dies and played the Mother Superior in Sister Act.
