Rufus Sewell is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in Twickenham, London, Sewell studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama, and made his screen breakthrough in Dirty Weekend in 1993 and later the series Cold Comfort Farm. He soon made a niche playing antagonistic roles in films such as The Illusionist and The Legend of Zorro.
Sewell also became well known for his television appearances, giving a BAFTA Award winning performance as Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew and playing the detective Aurelio Zen in an adaptation of the crime novel series. In 2006 he appeared in Rock 'n' Roll by Tom Stoppard, winning an Olivier Award for his performance, and later appeared as Serge in a revival of Art.

Sewell has only one singing credit to his name, in an early role in the television series Gone to Seed, in which he performs an open air rendition of "On the Street Where You Live."
