Ron Perlman is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Washington Heights, New York, he began as a stage actor and made his film debut in 1981 before making his name in Beauty and the Beast, which earned him a Golden Globe. He subsequently appeared in such films as The Name of the Rose, The Island of Dr. Moreau and the French-language The City of Lost Children.
Perlman later became known for playing the titular character in the Hellboy series, one of several which required heavy makeup. He also worked as a voice actor, in films such as The Book of Life (playing Xibalba), the television series Batman: The Animated Series and Danny Phantom and also in a number of video games, including Gun and the Halo series.
Singing[]
Perlman sang twice in voice roles, as Sergeant Sweete in the animated series Animaniacs and as the villain Grasping in An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island. He also sang "Can't Smile Without You" in Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
