Robert Morley was an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in Semley, Wiltshire, Morley attended RADA and would make his stage debut in 1929, followed by a film debut in 1935. Three years later he would receive an Academy Award nomination for his role as Louis XVI in Marie Antoinette and stage success for Edward, My Son in 1949.
Morley was a versatile character actor, though frequently cast as pompous English gentlemen. Though frequently appearing in character parts (notably featuring in both the 1956 and 1989 versions of Around the World in Eighty Days) he would also have success in such films as Who is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe?
Morley passed away in 1992.
