Robert De Niro is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Tribeca, New York, De Niro studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the Actor's Studio respectively, before gaining recognition for his role in Bang the Drum Slowly. He soon went on to give an Academy Award winning performance as Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II and began his collaborations with Martin Scorcese, leading to memorable roles in Mean Streets, The King of Comedy and award winning turns in Taxi Driver and Raging Bull.
While best known for his serious roles (receiving further plaudits for his roles in The Deer Hunter and Heat), De Niro also explored more varied productions such as Brazil and Midnight Run as well as outright comedies including the Meet the Parents series. De Niro also directed films such as A Bronx Tale and The Good Shepherd.
