Reginald Owen was an English actor.
Biography[]
Born John Reginald Owen in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, he studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and made his professional debut in 1905, soon appearing in the successful initial production of Where the Rainbow Ends and playing the non-singing role of Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers. Owen then moved into films, portraying Ebenezer Scrooge and gaining accolades for playing both Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson on various occasions.
In the later part of his career, Owen made a number of television appearances, including in Maverick, One Step Beyond and Bewitched. He made two of his final film appearances in Disney's Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks respectively.
Owen passed away in 1972.

Owen only sang in a handful of stage and film productions, including the Skipper of the Congo Queen in White Cargo. One of his final roles was that of Erronius in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
