He solves crimes with private investigator Emerson Cod, and his childhood sweetheart Chuck, a murder victim who he resurrected and now can never, ever touch. Working with Ned is Olive Snook, a lovesick waitress who is ignorant of Ned's secret, and after striking up a friendship with her shut-in aunts, believes Chuck faked her death.
