Phyllida Law is a Scottish actress.

Biography[]

Born in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, she made her screen debut in the television series Play School and would go on to have roles in such shows as Dixon of Dock Green, Rumpole of the Bailey and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Law also appeared in a number of films, including Peter's Friends, The Time Machine and Nanny McPhee. Her daughters are actresses Emma and Sophie Thompson.

Singing[]

As well as briefly singing "The Sheikh of Araby" in The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club, Law also appeared in the musicals On the Level as Fiona Sherringham and La Cage Aux Folles as Jacqueline.
