Pete Postlethwaite was an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in Warrington, Cheshire, Postlethwaite began his acting career at the Everyman Theatre and as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He soon moved into television before gaining recognition for film roles in In the Name of the Father (receiving an Academy Award nomination) and The Usual Suspects.
Postlethwaite continued to make appearances on both the big and small screen, including in The Lost World, Brassed Off and Sharpe. He continued to act to great acclaim despite being diagnosed as terminally ill, receiving praise for his role in The Town.
He passed away in 2011.

Postlethwaite made his sole singing appearance in the stage play The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, where his character drunkenly performs "It's Over."
