Paul Newman was an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, he performed on stage as a young man and was a naval officer before studying at the Yale School of Drama and the Actors Studio. He debuted on Broadway in 1953 and gained screen attention for Somebody Up There Likes Me and his first Academy Award nomination for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Newman later played Butch in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and appeared in later films including The Glass Menagerie, the Academy Award winning The Color of Money and Road to Perdition. He directed Harry & Son and provided voices for The Simpsons and Cars.
Newman passed away in 2008.
