Pat Carroll was an American actress.

Biography[]

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Carroll studied at the Catholic University of America and first began as a television actress, appearing such series as Caesar's Hour, Make Room for Daddy and Laverne & Shirley.

Carroll later became well known as a voice actress, most notably as the villainous Ursula in The Little Mermaid series. She also made a number of stage appearances, including playing Sir John Falstaff in an all female production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Carrol died on July 30, 2022.

Singing[]

Carroll sang in several stage and screen productions, beginning with the screen version of Best Foot Forward and later the role of Hildy Esterhazy in On the Twentieth Century.

Carroll sang a number of times as Ursula in The Little Mermaid, notably "Poor Unfortunate Souls" in the original film. She also played the crooked Mrs. Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
