Naoko Mori is a Japanese actress.

Biography[]

Born in Nagoya, Japan, she moved first to American and later to England to study. She gained an interest in acting at this time and appeared in small roles in television series including Casualty, Thief Takers and Absolutely Fabulous as well as the film Topsy-Turvy.

Mori gained something of a career breakthrough with her minor role as Dr. Toshiro Sato in Doctor Who, who later became a main character in the spin-off series Torchwood. As well as appearing films such as Everest and Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again, she also worked as a voice actress in video games Genji: Days of the Blade and Hitman.

Mori's first stage role was playing a bar girl in Miss Saigon, later taking up the leading role of Kim. She also appeared as Christmas Eve in Avenue Q and Lady Thiang in The King and I.
