Michael Fassbender is a German-born Irish actor.

Biography[]

Born in Heidelberg, West Germany, he studied at the Drama Centre London and was a member of the Oxford Stage Company before appearing in such television series as Band of Brothers, Hex and Angel before moving into mainstream films including 300, Inglorious Basterds and Fish Tank. He also appeared in adaptations of Jane Eyre and Macbeth as Edward Rochester and Macbeth himself respectively.

Fassbender gained commercial attention as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto in the X-Men Origins series but also in more critically acclaimed efforts such as A Dangerous Method, Shame and 12 Years a Slave, which earned him an Academy Award nomination.

Singing[]

Fassbender sang on a number of occasions, most notably as the titular character in Frank, in which he sang such songs as "I Love You All" and "The Ginger Crouton." He also performed the duet "For Your Precious Love" in Song to Song.
