Max von Sydow is a Swedish actor.
Biography[]
Born Carl von Sydow in Lund, Sweden, he studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre and made his screen debut in 1949. He received great early success following his appearance in The Seventh Seal and later the Swedish production The Emigrants.
Von Sydow began to gain success in English-language films such as The Greatest Story Ever Told (in which he played Jesus Christ) and The Kremlin Letter and more commercial successes as Flash Gordon (as Ming the Merciless), The Exorcist and Minority Report.

Von Sydow only sang once, performing "Calle Schewens Vals" in The Apple Tree.
