Mark Strong is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia in London, England, he attended Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and soon became a familiar face on British television and a popular stage actor, receiving an Olivier Award nomination for his performance in Twelfth Night.
Strong has frequently played villainous roles, such as Prince Septimus in Stardust, Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes and Frank D'Amico in Kick-Ass but has also played major protaganists and mentors such as Sinestro in the film adaptation of the Green Lantern comic series, and the betrayed secret agent Jim Prideaux in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
Singing[]
Though member of two bands - The Electric Hoax and Private Party- in his youth, Strong has only two singing roles to his name, his establishing role as Tosker Cox in Our Friends in the North, who plays guitar and sings a number of Jim Reeves songs for the amusement of his friends, as well in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, where he performs a climatic rendition of "Take Me Home, Country Roads."
