Larry Hagman was an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Fort Worth, Texas to actress Mary Martin, Hagman first began acting onstage at the Woodstock Playhouse, going on to appear in The Taming of the Shrew, Once Around the Block and his Broadway debut God and Kate Murphy. He made his first television appearance in 1957 with Decoy and continued to make guest appearances in various series until his breakout role as Major Anthony Nelson in I Dream of Jeannie. In 1978, he began portraying the ruthless oil tycoon J.R. Ewing in Dallas, for which he received several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
Hagman also appeared in a number of films, including Fail-Safe, The Eagle Has Landed and Nixon, as well as directing the horror film Beware! The Blob, several episodes of In the Heat of the Night and The Good Life.
Hagman passed away in 2012.

Hagman made his stage musical debut as Yeoman Quand in South Pacific and provided vocals for a studio albums, duetting with his mother on The Band Wagon and the single Get Out Those Old Records. He also played Bunny Carwell The Nervous Set and Bill Sampson in the television production of Applause.
