Kevin McKidd is a Scottish actor.

Biography[]

Born in Elgin, Moray, he studied Drama at Queen Margaret's College in Edinburgh, and appeared in amateur comedy and plays before making his first screen appearance in Small Faces and later Trainspotting in 1996. He went on to appear in a number of other major films, including Kingdom of Heaven and Hannibal Rising.

McKidd's greatest successes came on television, receiving great acclaim for his roles as Lucius Vorenus in Rome and Dr. Owen Hunt in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy. He also worked on several occasions as a voice actor, as the MacGuffins in Brave, and John "Soap" McTavish in the Call of Duty series.

Singing[]

McKidd has sung in a number of productions including Topsy-Turvy where he played renowned tenor Durward Lely and portrayed Walter Hartright in the Sydmonton workshop in The Woman in White. He also sang in the musical episode in his regular role in Grey's Anatomy, and was featured on the charity album The Speyside Sessions.
