Kelly Hunter is an English actress.
Biography[]
Born in Battersea, London, she worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared in such shows as She Stoops to Conquer, The School for Scandal and A Doll's House as well as Shakesperian roles such as Rosalind in As You Like It, Goneril in King Lear and Gertrude in a self-directed production of Hamlet. She also founded Flute Theatre, an interactive Shakesperian company.
Hunter also made several screen appearances, on television in series such as Bottom, Bleak House and Doctor Who as well as films including Vanity Fair and Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
Singing[]
Beginning her stage career as Peron's Mistress in Evita, Hunter also originated the role of Young Jean in Jean Seberg and played Sally Bowles in Cabaret on numerous occasions, including in French. She sang onscreen as Daphne in The House of Eliott and received an Olivier Award nomination for her role as Lola in The Blue Angel.
