Kate Winslet is an English actress.
Biography[]
Born in Reading, Berkshire, Winslet studied at Redroofs Theatre School and appeared in advertisements and amateur theatre before her television debut in Dark Season in 1991. She made her first major film appearance as Juliet Hulme in Heavenly Creatures before roles in Hamlet, Jude and the Award-winning blockbuster Titanic.
Winslet would go on to appear in a number of varied films, including Academy Award nominated performances in Enigma, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as well as a victory for The Reader. She also appeared in more offbeat works such as the twisted comedy-drama Carnage and the television series Extras.
Singing[]
Winslet sang briefly in Heavenly Creatures (appearing on the official soundtrack) and Titanic before releasing the successful single "What If?" to tie-in with Christmas Carol: The Movie. She also sang karaoke style as Tula in Romance & Cigarettes.
