Karen Gillan is a Scottish actress.
Biography[]
Born in Inverness, Scotland, she studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and was a model for some time before her first television role in Rebus. She appeared on the comedy series The Kevin Bishop Show impersonating a number of celebrities before her star-making role as Amelia "Amy" Pond in Doctor Who.
Gillan went on to make appearances in such films as We'll Take Manhattan and Oculus as well as a major role as the villainous Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Singing[]
Gillan twice sang for comic performances, firstly in The Kevin Bishop Show, singing a Katy Perry parody entitled "Why I Kissed a Girl" and as herself on Doctor Who Confidential singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" with her castmates.
