Juliet Stevenson is an English actress.

Biography[]

Born in Kelvedon, Essex, Stevenson studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and later joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1980s. Initially playing supporting roles, she later gained larger parts to great acclaim, playing Rosalind in As You Like It and Madame de Tourvel in Les Liasons Dangereuses.

Additionally she has made several on screen appearances in both blockbusters (such as Bend It Like Beckham) and television productions such as Pierrepoint. Stevenson received a CBE for her services to acting in 1999.

Stevenson has only sang in one role in her career, as the grieving Nina in Truly, Madly, Deeply, a part deliberately written to showcase her varied talents.
