Julia Roberts is an American actress.
Biography[]
Born in Smyrna, Georgia, she initially planned to become a veterinarian before moving to New York and becoming a model, making her screen debut in 1988. However, it was in 1989 that she received her first Academy Award nomination for Steel Magnolias, and 1990 that she made her breakthrough role as Vivian in Pretty Woman, establishing her as a romantic comedy star.
After a brief hiatus, Roberts played the co-lead in Notting Hill, and received an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Erin Brockovich. She subsequently appeared in films such as The Mexican, and the blockbuster Ocean's Eleven series.
