John C. Reilly is an American actor.

Biography[]

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Reilly made his film debut in 1989's Casualties of War and went on to appear in such films as Hoffa, Boogie Nights and The Thin Red Line before receiving an Academy Award nomination for his turn as Amos Hart in Chicago.

Reilly played a contrasting number of roles, appearing in historical dramas (The Aviator), screwball comedies (Talladega Nights) and provided voices for Wreck-It Ralph and Sing amongst others.

Singing[]

Reilly sang in a number of films, with early examples including Boogie Nights and Chicago, where he performed the mournful "Mr. Cellophane." He also appeared on the album Unexpected Dreams - Songs from the Stars.

However, Reilly's biggest musical success came in the faux biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, where he wrote several songs and performed many others including "A Life Without You (Is No Life At All)" and "Guilty as Charged."
