Joe Pesci is an American actor and musician.

Biography[]

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Pesci began his career as a singer, stand-up comic and musician, before his feature film debut in 1976's The Death Collector. He received an Academy Award nomination for his role as Joey LaMotta in Raging Bull.

Pesci would also receive an Academy Award for playing Tommy DeVito (based his real-life associate Tommy DeSimone) in Goodfellas and continue to appear to appear in films (frequently as criminals in films such as Home Alone, My Cousin Vinny and Casino) until his retirement in 1999.

Pesci released a number of albums both of music and raps, including Little Joe Sure Can Sing! and Vincent LaGuardia Gambini Sings Just For You. He also sang in the films Dear Mr. Wonderful and Love Ranch.
