Joanna Gleason is a Canadian actress.

Biography[]

Born Joanne Hall in Toronto, Ontario, she began acting in musicals whilst still a student before making her Broadway debut in 1977 with I Love My Wife. She also appeared in a number of straight plays including A Day in the Death of Joe Egg.

In addition to her stage career, Gleason also made her television debut on Let's Make a Deal before making appearances in such series as The West Wing and Friends as well as the films Hannah and Her Sisters and Crimes and Misdemeanours.

Gleason originated several musical roles on stage, including the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods, Nora Charles in Nick & Nora and Muriel Eubanks in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
