Jeffrey Jones is an American actor.

Biography[]

Born in Buffalo, New York, he studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art as well as appearing in numerous productions at the Stratford and Guthrie Theatres before moving into Broadway shows such as Cloud 9, Romeo and Juliet and The Elephant Man. He soon became recognised for his roles onscreen, in such films as The Hunt for Red October, and most notably Ferris Bueller's Day Off (as the determined Dean Rooney) and Amadeus, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for playing the befuddled Emperor Joseph II.

Jones appeared in a number of television roles as well as frequently collaborating with Tim Burton in Beetlejuice, Ed Wood and Sleepy Hollow. He also gained praise for his stage appearances in 63 Trillion and The Cocktail Hour respectively.

Singing[]

Jones originated the role of Karl Bodenschatz in the musical The Death of Von Richthofen As Witnessed From Earth, as well as performing the duet "Happy Trails" in The People Next Door.
