Jeffrey Hunter was an American actor.
Biography[]
Born Henry McKinnies Jr in New Orleans, Louisiana, he went from serving in the Navy in World War Two to working as a theatre actor before making his screen debut in 1950's Julius Caesar. He began to gain recognition for his work with Western director John Ford (particularly in The Searchers) and was later cast as Jesus Christ in the Biblical epic King of Kings.
Hunter then began to appear on television, including appearances in the failed series Temple Houston and as Captain Christopher Pike in the original pilot for Star Trek.
Hunter passed away in 1969.

Hunter made his sole singing appearance in Belles on Their Toes, singing the classic song "Any Rags, Any Bones, Any Bottles Today?"
