James Marsden is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Marsden initially studied broadcast journalism before moving to Los Angeles and getting a job as Eddie in The Nanny. Whilst he received many television roles, Marsden's big breakthrough came after being cast as Cyclops, the team leader in the X-Men series, which lead to further appearances in the sequels. He also appeared in the comic book film Superman Returns.
Marsden would go on to make a number of appearances in comedies, as well as the acclaimed live action Disney film Enchanted, where he played the heroic but dim Prince Edward. He also branched out into more serious roles, receiving praise for his portrayal of John F. Kennedy in The Butler.
Singing[]
Marsden has sung several times on screen, beginning with the song "Glow" in Gossip, and on two occasions during his time as Glenn Foy on Ally McBeal. He also lent his voice to the musical film Hairspray as the television host Corny Collins, and in Disney's Enchanted, where -as well as singing in character- he also provided a rendition of "That's Amore" which is heard over the radio.
