Jake Gyllenhaal is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born Jacob Gyllenhaal in Los Angeles, California, he made his screen debut in 1991, before acting on stage and appearing in a number of his father's films. He made his breakthrough as the lead role in Donnie Darko, alongside his sister Maggie. Gyllenhaall also appeared in the blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow as well as Jarhead and Brokeback Mountain, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.
Gyllenhaal would continue to play a variety of different roles in a range of films including Zodiac, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Nightcrawler as well as continuing to work on stage with such shows as If There Is Haven't Found It Yet.
