Hugh Grant is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in Hammersmith, he studied at New College, Oxford, where he gained his first film role. Ultimately creating his own comedy revue, as well as having several theatrical roles.
His big break came in 1994 with Richard Curtis' Four Weddings and a Funeral in which he played the foppish but romantic Charles. A second role with Curtis would come with Notting Hill, and cemented his reputation as a romantic lead, leading to roles in Sense and Sensibility and the Bridget Jones series among others. After something of a break from acting, he received plaudits for his role as Jeremy Thorpe in A Very British Scandal.
Singing[]
Grant has sung in three separate films, the first being About a Boy, in which he sings "Killing Me Softly" and plays guitar in order to support Nicholas Hoult's Marcus. In Love Actually he plays David, the Prime Minister, and sings "Good King Wenceslas" at the request of some young children.
Grant's largest singing role came in Music and Lyrics, in which he plays washed up singer Alex Fletcher, singing several solos and duets.
