Gregory Peck was an American actor.

Biography[]

Born Eldred Peck in San Diego, California, he studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse after discovering an interest as a student and made his Broadway debut in The Morning Star in 1942. In 1944 he made his first screen appearance and in 1947 he co-founded The La-Jolla Playhouse. He was nominated for an Academy Award on five occasions, including for The Keys of the Kingdom, Gentlemen's Agreement and To Kill a Mockingbird, for which he won.

Peck also made appearances in films such as Cape Fear, The Omen and The Boys from Brazil and television roles in The Blue and the Gray and The Scarlet and the Black, before making his acclaimed final screen appearance in Moby Dick.

Peck passed away in 2003.

Peck only sang briefly onscreen, singing “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” in Duel in the Sun and “The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo” in The Million Pound Note.
