George Wendt is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Wendt made his screen debut in 1978 and appeared in such television series as Taxi and M*A*S*H before his long-running renowned role as Norm Peterson in Cheers, a part he reprised in a number of spin-offs and parodies.
Wendt also appeared in the films Space Truckers and Spice World as well as such stage plays as Twelve Angry Men and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Singing[]
Though he only sang briefly in Cheers, Wendt appeared in a number of musicals, including playing Mr. MacAfee in the 1995 television film Bye Bye Birdie, Edna Turnblad in Hairspray and Santa Claus in Elf.
