George Lindsey was an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Fairfield, Alabama, he joined the United States Air Force before becoming a member of the American Theater Wing and going to appear on television in such shows as Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Alfred Hitchcok Hour before assuming his famous role as Goober Pyle in The Andy Griffith Show.
Lindsey also voiced three characters in Disney films, namely The Aristocats, Robin Hood and The Rescuers.
Lindsey passed away in 2012.

As well as being in the ensemble of All American, Lindsey sang on a number of shows in which he guest starred as himself, as well as whilst playing Captain Dupree in M*A*S*H.
