Dorothy Sarnoff was an American actress.
Biography[]
Born in New York City, Sarnoff studied at Cornell University and underwent vocal training, before going on to perform with the NBC Symphony Orchestra and the St. Louis Municipal Opera. She made her Broadway debut in 1942 and subsequently appeared in a number of shows.
After leaving professional acting, Sarnoff became a speech coach, having such illustrious clients as President Jimmy Carter.
Sarnoff passed away in 2008.
Singing[]
A popular musical theatre actress, Sarnoff appeared as a lead soprano in such shows as Tosca and Faust, as well as appearing in the 1942 revival of Rosalinda and originating the role of Maria in Magdalena. Her most famous role came playing Lady Thiang in The King and I.
