David Firth is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born David Coleman in Bedford, England, he studied at Guildford School of Music and Drama before becoming a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Firth would appear in such stage productions as A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and The Shell Seekers.
As well as his stage roles, Firth would also make appearances in films and television series throughout his career, appearing in episodes as Yes, Minister and Midsomer Murders among others.
Singing[]
Firth performed in a number of stage musicals, beginning with revue Side by Side by Sondheim and originating the roles of Arthur Miller in Marilyn!, Gilles Andre in The Phantom of the Opera (returning with the original cast for the 25th Anniversary Concert) and The Banker in The Hunting of the Snark.
Firth would also appear as John Wilkes Booth in the London production of Assassins and Benjamin Stone in Follies. His voice could be heard on the studio album for On the Town in 1995 and the original cast recording of The Fix, in which he played Reed Chandler.
