Damian Lewis is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in St. John's Wood, London, he studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where appeared in productions of Little Eyolf and Cymbeline. He later had roles in The Misanthrope and Pillars of the Community. Lewis made his film debut in Robinson Crusoe in 1997 and subsequently appeared in such films as Stormbreaker, The Sweeney and Romeo & Juliet.
Lewis gave some of his best known performances on television, notably in Band of Brothers, Homeland and Wolf Hall, each of which earned him a Golden Globe nomination (and a victory for Homeland.) He also appeared in The Forsyte Saga and as Benedick in the Shakespeare ReTold series.
