Christopher Eccleston is an English actor.
Biography[]
Born in Salford, Lancashire, Eccleston studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama and after working as a stage actor he gained public recognition for his role as Derek Bentley in Let Him Have It and a regular role in Cracker. His career then extended into films such as Shallow Grave and Elizabeth as well as the series Our Friends in the North.
Eccleston later gained television success playing the Ninth Doctor in Doctor Who and later played a series of villains in Hollywood blockbusters, namely as Destro in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Malekith in Thor: The Dark World.
Singing[]
Eccleston made his singing debut in 2001 singing the rock duet "Get It Out" in the TV Movie Strumpet, in which he played struggling poet Strayman.
