Christoph Waltz is an Austrian actor.

Biography[]

Born in Vienna, Austria, he studied at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and was a stage actor and later director, debuting with his production of "Wenn man sich traut" in 2000. He also played the role of Dr. Hans-Joachim Dorfmann in the series The Gravy Train. However he won global acclaim and an Academy Award for his portrayal of Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds.

Waltz then continued to appear in numerous English language productions, including Water for Elephants, The Green Hornet and Carnage, as well as Django Unchained, which earned him a second Academy Award. He also went on to play the arch-villain Franz Oberhauser/Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the James Bond film Spectre.

Singing[]

Waltz made his first singing appearance performing "Ich bin das neue Jah" (or "I Am The New Year") in his native language on the series Am Dam Des. He later sang on Saturday Night Live, joining a number of fellow guests in a rendition of "Smile, Damn You, Smile."
