Cheech Marin is an American actor and comedian.

Biography[]

Born Richard Marin in Los Angeles, California, Marin became known as part of the comedy duo "Cheech & Chong", making his comedy debut in 1971 and film debut shortly afterwards. Cheech & Chong remained active for many stand-up acts, albums and films, before disbanding in 1985.

Marin appeared in a number of television series, including The Golden Palace, Judging Amy and Nash Bridges as well as films such as the Mariachi Trilogy, and the Spy Kids Trilogy. She also provided voices for a number of Disney film, as well as FernGully: The Last Rainforest, Cars 2 and Coco.

Singing[]

Along with comedy partner Tommy Chong, Marin wrote and performed a number of comic songs, both for films and their comedy routines. These included "Basketball Jones", "Earache My Eye" and "Nadine."

Marin also performed several songs in Disney films, including "Why Should We Worry?" in Oliver & Company, "Magic, It's All Up to You" in Mickey's 60th Birthday and "Be Prepared" in The Lion King.
