Charles Judels was a Dutch born American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Judels spent most of his early career in comic musicals on Broadway, though he also appeared in a number of silent films, beginning with Old Dutch in 1915. With the advent of sound, Judels had numerous roles in shorts, as well as supporting roles in such productions as The Great Ziegfeld and Ninotchka.
Judels was also recognised as a character actor, and provided voices for several cartoons, mostly famously both the explosive puppetmaster Stromboli and the sinister Coachman in Pinocchio.
Judels passed away in 1969.
Singing[]
Judels sang many times onstage, frequently originating roles in minor Broadway shows, beginning with Abdullah in 1902's A Trip to Buffalo. This was followed by such productions as Mary and For Goodness Sake.
Judels also sang onscreen, performing "I Feel So Relieved" in Nothing Ever Happens, "Funiculi Funicula" in Song of the City and "The Mousetrap Song" in Swiss Miss amongst others.
