Catherine Tate is an English actress and comedian.
Biography[]
Born Catherine Ford in Bloomsbury, London, she attended both the National Youth Theatre and Central School of Speech and Drama and began appearing in television series such as The Bill and The Harry Hill Show. She began to gain recognition for her work in comedies such as Barking, Big Train and The Catherine Tate Show.
Tate later played the role of companion Donna Noble in Doctor Who, and appeared in such films as Starter for 10, Sixty-Six and Gulliver's Travels. She also appeared onstage in Under the Blue Sky and Much Ado About Nothing.
Singing[]
Tate sang in two of her comedy series, namely The Catherine Tate Show and Big School, but also sang the duets "We Go Together" and "Sigh No More" on an album created to tie-in with her playing Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. She appeared in the stage musicals Assassins (as Sarah Jane Moore) and Miss Atomic Bomb (originating the role of Myrna.)
