Cate Blanchett is an Australian actress.
Biography[]
Born in Melbourne, Victoria, she appeared as an extra whilst travelling overseers and was inspired to join the National Institute of Dramatic Arts. She gained theatrical acclaim in Oleanna and Hamlet before moving into screen roles, gaining an Academy Award nomination for her title role in Elizabeth (receiving a second one for the film's sequel over a decade later).
Blanchett would appear in a mixture of blockbusters (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and critically acclaimed productions, gaining Academy Awards for The Aviator and Blue Jasmine. She also returned to the theatre with Uncle Vanya and A Streetcar Named Desire and directed the series Stateless.

Blanchett sang once in her career, performing the duet "Reunited" on The Tonight Starring Jimmy Fallon.
